The Briggs Chaney Dance Center, in its 17th successful year, is proud to offer dance at its finest to people of all ages and levels. The Briggs Chaney Dance Center is located in the Briggs Chaney Shopping Center on Old Columbia Pike in Silver Spring. We have recently expanded and remodeled the original studio to twice its previous size in order to accommodate our classes and student needs. We are a unique studio with a warm, personal atmosphere conducive and beneficial to studying the art of dance. It is the goal of our faculty to enlighten students to the many benefits of dance, both physical and aesthetic.. 

    The Briggs Chaney Dance Center provides quality instruction at affordable rates. We offer courses of instruction in Classical Ballet at all levels. All students are encouraged to study ballet as it is the root of all forms of dance. 

    We also offer classes in Tap, Jazz, Pointe and Lyrical. Our combination classes consist of Ballet, Tap and Gymnastics. It is a joyous introduction to dance and forms of movement for children.

    Our renowned fast-paced First Steps program is for 2-3 year olds incorporating motor skills, coordination and basic dance movements creating an educational, fun and beneficial experience.

    We have a wide range of qualified studio instructors at the Briggs Chaney Dance Center and our other locations. Many of our instructors have highly regarded Dance Masters of America certification, while others have performed and studied dance in college as well as with other recognized dance organizations. Some of our instructors have grown up attending the Briggs Chaney Dance Center since childhood and are now instructors themselves with the company.

    We pride ourselves in encouraging the development of creative expression offered to each student. We also provide all of our students with the chance to perform locally and at community events. This gives our students a chance to experience all the aspects associated with dance.
