Where dreams begin…..our teachers and staff are our leaders in making every dancers dream begin with Concepts in Motivation, Inc. (CM). We look forward to another successful dance year.
I continue to look forward to having the studios run with our foundation to provide a fun and safe place for students to learn. As we look to the future, we will strive to enhance our dance program and welcome hearing from you ideas or suggestions to further that goal.
This year we were pleased to incorporate the end of the year performance called CM Dance Showcase. This replaced the informal/formal rotation of the previous recitals in June. Each year Concepts in Motivation will produce a Dance Showcase for all studios. This will be held in June and a venue will be researched in the fall and confirmation on the venue is received in mid to late March.
Again this year we have teamed up with Winthrop University in order to allow our students to gain a better understanding of dance at the collegiate level. We will be participating in the auditions for the University and some of the University’s staff members will be holding master classes in the area. This is just one way we are trying to provide the best dancing experience for our dancers at all levels. This year’s event will be on September 19th at the Olney Theatre.
Every year Concepts in Motivation, Inc. gives back to the community in a variety of ways. In particular we have continued to team with the American Lung Association and this year we held our 3rd annual Dance-A-Thon in support of Asthma. Our efforts were again successful and with your support CM has contributed over ten thousand dollars to the American Lung Association. In addition, some of our dancers visited nursing homes in April and May. Our dancers also participated in other community events such as parades and community festivals. The Dance Companies also had a successful year participating in local exhibitions and competitions.
CM created and expanded the dance camp this year by combining with Virginia Commonwealth University. We enjoyed a fun filled day at Kings Dominion during the camp.
We are pleased to bring new teachers and staff for this upcoming season, and we will continue to offer the best dance experience for your child. The World of Performing Arts and dance can offer any dancer a year of building self esteem, discipline, and nurturing while also providing lifelong friendships and memories. Our teachers play a major role in this development.
CM Management will consist of:
Angelique Waldron is happy to begin her third year as Director. She will also be serving as Studio Coordinator to the Olney Studio of Dance.
At Clopper’s Mill Dance Center we are happy to have Linda Weinel again as Studio Coordinator.
Rhonda Rose will continue to serve as Studio Coordinator for our Damascus Studio of Dance and Mt. Airy Studio of Dance.
I thank you personally and we thank you collectively for entrusting us to provide your family with the most
positive dance experience and an opportunity to watch where dreams begin.
